Women's Hockey Suffers Second Loss to St. Norbert 4-2

The Lake Forest women's hockey team scored the first goal of the game but couldn't hold on as the Foresters lost to St. Norbert 4-2 on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

Freshman forward Logan Taylor put the Foresters on the board at 17:06 of the first period with a power play goal. Melissa Paluch and Alex Stensland assisted on the goal.

St. Norbert tied the game at 12:55 of the second period as Karissa Anderson scored the first of her three goals in the game. The Green Knights took a 2-1 lead at 15:04 on a power play goal by Stephanie Slinde.

The two teams traded goals in the third period with St. Norbert striking first at 2:03 on Anderson's second of the game. Forester freshman Michelle Greeneway cut the deficit with a goal at 6:55 to trim the lead to 3-2, but St. Norbert added an insurance goal at 18:11 as Anderson completed the hat trick. 

Lake Forest pulled goalie Stacey Dierking for the last 1:31 of the game in favor of an extra skater, but could not find the back of the net. 

Dierking finished with 31 saves while her counterpart Kaley Gibson made 29 saves. 

Lake Forest travels to the Unversity of Wisconsin-River Falls next weekend for a two game series on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 2:05 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 17 at 2:05 p.m.
