Women's Hockey Wins Sixth Straight Game with 3-1 Victory Over Adrian

Freshmen Michelle Greeneway and Melissa Paluch each scored a goal and added an assist and Maeve Connelly added a goal as the Lake Forest women's hockey team won its sixth straight game with a 3-1 victory over Adrian on Saturday night at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse. 

With the win, the Foresters improve to 8-2-4, 5-1-4 NCHA and Adrian falls to 14-4-0, 9-4-0 NCHA.

Connelly gave Lake Forest a 1-0 lead at 16:41 of the second period and was assisted by sophomore forward Marissa Weber.

Adrian tied the game at 19:22 of the second period on a goal by Hannah McGowan.

Lake Forest put the game out of reach with two power play goals by Greeneway and Paluch at 8:11 and 18:47 of the third period.

Forester goalie Stacey Dierking made 32 saves in the victory while her counterpart Brittany Zeches stopped 30 shots.

The two teams meet again on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse. 

Also, tonight the Lake Forest women's hockey program welcomed back alumni and honored them after the first period. Senior defenseman Angie Chronis was honored with the Ry McCarthy Award during the ceremony.
