Michelle Greeneway Named NCHA Player of the Week

Lake Forest College women's hockey player Michelle Greeneway was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week on Tuesday after leading the Foresters to the championship at the University of Massachusetts Boston's Codfish Bowl the previous week.

Greeneway started the tournament with two goals and an assist in the team's 5-0 victory over Plymouth State University on Thursday. Her first goal less than three-and-a-half minutes into the contest turned out to be the official game-winner and she added an assist and another goal in the final period.

Lake Forest defeated the hosts 5-1 in Friday's championship game. Greeneway's goal with 10 seconds to play in the second period gave the Foresters a 3-0 lead and she tacked on an unassisted, shorthanded, empty net goal with 2:10 to play in the game.

Greeneway leads the 2012-13 Foresters with seven goals and ranks second with a dozen points.

NCHA Players of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director.
