Lake Forest Ties Stevens Point 2-2

The Forester women's hockey team skated to a 2-2 tie at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Friday night. Freshman Michelle Greeneway scored her first career goal to give Lake Forest a 2-0 lead in the second period but the Pointers came back to record the tie.

Greeneway's power play score was her second of the season and was assisted by senior Jenn Caldwell and junior Sarah Gilbride at the 7:27 mark of the second period. The Foresters' first goal was the team-high fourth of the season for freshman Logan Taylor. She was assisted by Greeneway and senior Angie Chronis.

Stevens Point got on the scoreboard on a power play goal of its own with 7:54 to play in the period. The Pointers then tied the game on another power play goal two-and-a-half minutes into the third period.

Lake Forest sophomore goaltender Jenna Brankin made 28 saves in the contest, including 11 in the third and three in the five-minute overtime period. She raised her save percentage on the year to .914.

The Foresters are now 1-1-2 overall this season and 0-0-2 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. Stevens Point is 5-1-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the league. The same two teams will face off again at 2:30 Saturday afternoon.
