Foresters Defeated in NCHA O'Brien Cup Semifinals

The Lake Forest College women's hockey team fell 4-0 at UW-River Falls, the nation's seventh-ranked team, in the semifinals of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association O'Brien Cup Tournament Friday night. The Foresters finish the season with an overall record of 15-10-2.

River Falls started the scoring with a power play goal at the 8:18 mark of the opening period and still led 1-0 after 20 minutes of play.

The Falcons added a goal at 3:13 in the second and another with 3:04 remaining in the period.

A power play by the home team with 4:24 to play in the contest accounted for the final score.

River Falls out-shot the Foresters 12-10 in each of the first two periods and by a 17-3 margin in the third.

The Falcons raised their record on the season to 22-4-2 and will face off against Adrian College in the tournament's championship game tomorrow afternoon at 4:05.

Lake Forest seniors Molly Wallner, Jessica Dare, Kim Herring, and Mira Trebilcock finished their career with a 60-37-10 record and more victories than any other senior class in program history.
