Foresters Suffer First Home Loss of the Season

The Lake Forest College women's hockey team was defeated 3-1 by visiting St. Norbert College Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Jenn Caldwell scored the only goal of the game for the home team.

Caldwell cut in front of a pass and lit the lamp with just 30 seconds remaining in the contest. It was her first goal of the season and she is the 14th different player on the team to score in 2010-11.

St. Norbert netted the game's first goal while on the power play at the 2:19 mark of the second period. The Green Knights then doubled their lead at 3:21 in the third period and clinched the victory with an empty net score with 2:04 to play in the contest.

The Foresters out-shot their guests 14-6 in the opening period and both teams put seven shots on goal in the second. Lake Forest had a 12-8 edge in the third period and a 33-21 advantage in the game.

The Green Knights are now 7-6-1 overall this season and 4-4-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. The Foresters fell to 7-3-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the league.

The same two teams will face off again tomorrow afternoon at 2:00.
