The Forester women's hockey team was defeated 4-1 at Adrian
College on Sunday (January 17). Lake Forest is now 11-2-2 overall
this season and 5-1-2 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association
play. The Bulldogs raised their overall record to 7-9-1 and league
mark to 5-3-0.
The Foresters scored the first goal of the game at the 15:09 mark
of the opening period. Junior Sam Herron
(Clinton Township, Mich./Victory Honda) netted the power play score
with assists credited to sophomore Jessica Dare
(Whitmore Lake, Mich./Belle Tire) and senior Jamie Sauer
(Eagle River, Wis./Northland Pines H.S.). It was Herron's third
goal of the season.
Adrian tied the game on a power play goal four-and-a-half minutes
into the second period and took the lead at the 8:43 mark. The
Bulldogs out-shot Lake Forest 20-18 in the first two periods
combined and then by a 16-6 margin in the third when the home team
put the game away with scores at 6:57 and 17:07.
Lake Forest will travel to Marian University next weekend (January
22-23) and take on the Sabres at 7:00 Friday night and 12:30
Saturday afternoon.
