Under O'Malley's direction, the 2022-23 Foresters placed third at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships and broke the program's 54-hole scoring record by 70 strokes. Individually, Gabrielle Krebs finished sixth at the conference tournament with the best 54-hole score (238) in program history and was named First Team All-SLIAC. Teammates Sydney Foulon and Alijah Campbell earned Second Team All-SLIAC honors by placing 13th and 15th, respectively.

The Foresters' 345.0 scoring average in 2022-23 was the second-lowest in team history and their marks in five of O'Malley's six seasons as head coach are the best in the nine-year history of the program. They turned in the top five performances at the conference meet and individual players on the team have been named all-conference 11 times with 17 conference all-academic team honors in that span.

O'Malley has been an avid golfer throughout his life. After participating in numerous junior tournaments, he went on to play varsity golf at Cleveland Saint Ignatius High School, where he helped lead the Wildcats to a pair of top-four finishes in the state of Ohio.
