Runner-Up Finish for Lake Forest at Shenandoah Spring Fling

The Foresters placed second out of five complete teams at the Shenandoah Spring Fling in Sorrento, Florida, on Thursday and Friday.

Freshman Gabrielle Krebs led Lake Forest both days. After carding an 82 on Thursday, she matched her season-best score and the fifth-lowest round in team history with a 76 on Friday. Her second round included five birdies. Krebs was the tournament's individual runner-up and her 158 at the event matched the fourth-best 36-hole score in program history.

Fellow freshman Ashlyn Bhatia finished with a season-low 86 on Friday and placed seventh out of 33 golfers at the event with a two-day total of 168. Classmates Niki Datangel and Sydney Foulon were tied for 14th and 16th, respectively, at 174 and 175.

The Foresters' score of 331 on day two ranks fourth in team annals while the 36-hole total of 673 is tied-for-third.

Marymount University finished first in the team standings by 30 strokes and Lake Forest was 34 shots ahead of third-place Shenandoah University.

The next tournament on the Foresters' 2022-23 schedule is a dual match against Benedictine University at St. Andrews Golf and Country Club in West Chicago, Illlinois, on Saturday, April 1.
