Forester Athletes of the Week: Sept. 6

Freshman Gabrielle Krebs of women's golf and senior wide receiver A.J. Jackson of football were named the Forester Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Krebs turned in the fifth-best 36-hole score in program history with rounds of 80 and 79 at Carthage College's Battle on the Border over the weekend. She recorded a birdie and 10 pars both days and tied for 8th place in a field of 89 golfers. Saturday's 79 matched the 12th-lowest round by a Forester since the program began in 2014.

Jackson's 6-yard touchdown run early broke a 7-7 tie early in the second quarter of Saturday's 42-7 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran College. He also reached the end zone on a 43-yard reception early in the fourth to become the second-leading scorer in team history with 246 career points. Jackson finished the day with 100 all purpose yards on eight touches.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by a vote of athletic department staff. Krebs is the second member of her team to earn the honor in as many weeks this season and Jackson has now received the award six times in his career.
