Lake Forest College women's golfer Emily Tao was named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Thursday after winning last week's Judson Invite.
Tao, a freshman, carded an 80 on the 5,805-yard, par-71 course at Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee, Illinois. She finished at least two shots better than the other 51 players in the field after posting nine pars to go with a birdie on the 147-yard, par-3 13th hole.
After joining the squad for the spring semester, Tao has a team-best scoring average of 84.50 over four rounds.
SLIAC Players of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Tao is the first Forester to earn the honor in 2021-22.
