The Forester women's golf team was eight shots better on Saturday than Friday and placed 13th at Carthage College's Battle on the Border over the weekend.
Sophomore Makayla Sanchez and freshman Lucy Rayburn finished in the middle of the 92-player field with two-day scores of 181 and 182, respectively. Sanchez carded a pair of birdies and Rayburn had four on the weekend.
Senior Grace Black was next on the team with a 195 while freshman Emma Ackland came in at 203 and sophomore Christina Hartley at 209.
With a team score of 609, Carthage won the tournament by 40 strokes.
The Foresters will be in action again on Tuesday at the Elmhurst College Blujay Invite. The event will be played at Oak Brook Golf Club in Oak Brook, Illinois, and will begin at 11:00 a.m.
