Chloe Morrissey Named SLIAC Player of the Week Again

Lake Forest College's Chloe Morrissey was named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Player of the Week on Wednesday after breaking her own school record on Sunday.

The Foresters won a pair of three-team events over the weekend. After finishing second to teammate Amanda Lee with an 84 at the Wisconsin Lutheran College Triangular on Saturday, Morrissey won by nine strokes and established a new program record with a 1-under 71 at Sunday's Edgewood College Triangular. The freshman birdied five holes, including three of the four par-5s, during the first under-par round in the team's seven-year history.

Morrissey held the previous school record of 72, which she set at the Marian Invite on April 10. The Foresters' best round before this season was Allie Girard's even-par 73 at the UW-Whitewater Fall Classic in September of 2016.

With a scoring average of 81.50 so far this year, Morrissey is on pace to break Girard's single-season record of 82.65.

SLIAC Players of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors on Wednesday. Morrissey also earned the award on April 14.
