The Lake Forest College women's golf team finished second for the fifth consecutive tournament on Sunday, finishing as the Carroll Classic runner-up with a season-low 344.

Forester freshman Makayla Sanchez turned in her best score of the year with a 10-over 82 on the 6,210-yard course at Dretzka Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She eagled the 414-yard par-5 fifth hole, made five pars, and avoided anything worse than bogey all day.

Senior Amanda Lee and freshman Chloe Mosrrissey were three shots better than Sanchez and tied-for-second in the 58-player field. They each birdied the fifth hole and added nine pars on the day but finished two shots off the lead.

Junior Grace Black and senior Makenzie Kamm matched their lowest rounds of 2021 on Sunday, coming in at 104 and 111, respectively.

The Foresters' 344 was 16 stroke better than their previous season-best and ranks tied-for-13th in program history. University of Wisconsin-Whitewater won the event with a score of 319 and University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point was third at 346.

Lake Forest will compete in a triangular hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College next Saturday. The event will be hell at New Berlin Hills Golf Course in New Berlin, Wisconsin, and is scheduled to begin at noon.
