Foresters Win Fourth Straight Marian Invite

Junior Amanda Lee led four Foresters in the top seven of the individual standings as Lake Forest won the 11-team Marian University Invite for the fourth year in a row.

Lee's second round score of 81 on Sunday was the best round by a Forester so far this season and 11 shots better than her score on Saturday. She recorded two of the 63-player field's 11 birdies on the day and placed third at the two-day tournament, just three shots behind the winner.

With rounds of 88 and 86, fellow Forester junior Faith Jung finished one shot behind Lee and tied-for-fourth overall on the weekend. Senior Cece Cruz was sixth at 176 and freshman Sydney Reeder seventh with a score of 177.

Lake Forest posted a score of 353 on Saturday to take an 11-shot lead and the team's 347 in round two was the best in the field and the Foresters finished 13 shots clear of runner-up St. Norbert College in the final standings.

The tournament was played on the 5,802-yard, par-72 course at Whispering Springs Golf Club in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

The next event on Lake Forest's schedule is Tuesday's Elmhurst College Fall Invitational, which is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
