Foresters Defeat Benedictine, Match Fourth-Best Round in Team History

Lake Forest had the top four golfers in a 337-429 dual match victory over Benedictine University at nearby Lake Bluff Golf Course on Wednesday.

Junior Amanda Lee and senior Cece Cruz led the way with matching rounds of 82 on the 5,950-yard, par-72 course. Both players carded four pars and shot 41 on the front nine before posting the same numbers on the back. The 82 matched the best round os Cruz's career.

Freshman Sydney Reeder was next with an 85 and turned in the only birdie of the afternoon when she needed just two shots to complete the 137-yard, par-3 16th hole. Junior Faith Jung added an 88, two shots better than the top player from the Eagles.

The Foresters' team score of 337 tied the fourth-lowest round in program history and is their best performance on their home course.

Lake Forest will not compete again until the Marian Invite in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on September 14-15.
