Amanda Lee Named Forester Athlete of the Week

Amanda Lee Named Forester Athlete of the Week

Lake Forest College golfer Amanda Lee was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday for her performance at the Midwest Conference Championships over the weekend.

Lee ended Friday's opening round of the tournament in sixth place out of 31 players with a score of 85.

On Saturday the sophomore carded a 2-over 75, which was tied for the best score in the field and moved her up two spots to fourth in the individual standings. The 75 was two shots better than her previous career-best and the second-lowest round in team history, two strokes off the record set by alumna Allie Girard in 2016.

Due to weather and course conditions, the third round on Sunday was canceled and the results of the first two days were considered final. The Foresters' runner-up finish was the best in the five-year history of the program and Lee's 36-hole score of 160 is the third-lowest total in team annals. She was named All-MWC for the second year in a row, joining Girard and fellow sophomore Faith Jung, as the program's only two-time all-conference selections.

Lee has finished the 2018 portion of the season with an average score of 87.36 in 14 rounds of play.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
