Junior Anhayte Guajardo was the squad's top player as the Lake Forest College women's golf team won the Judson University Invitational at Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee, Illinois, on Wednesday.

After slipping a birdie in amongst three bogeys and a double-bogey in her first eight holes, Guajardo played the rest of the course in just 2-over. Her final score of 78 was seven strokes better than her previous career-best and good for second place in the 26-player field. It also matched the third-lowest round in team history.

Freshman Faith Jung and sophomore Yuka Kawata were next on the team and tied-for-fifth overall at 82, one stroke ahead of freshman Amanda Lee and two better than freshman Emily Argersinger. Sophomore Kaitlyn Gray was tied-for-13th overall with an 86. Kawata birdied the fourth and fifth holes en route to a career-best score by eight shots and Lee's round also included a pair of birdies. Jung, Argersinger, and Gray each needed just four shots to complete the 435-yard, par-5 11th.

The Foresters' score of 327 was six shots better than the previous program record and 19 ahead of runner-up Judson. St. Xavier was third at 360 and Lincoln College fourth at 410.

Lake Forest will host a dual match with Benedictine University Friday afternoon at 1:00. The contest will be played at nearby Lake Bluff Golf Club.
