Faith Jung Named MWC Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College women's golfer Faith Jung was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for her performance at the UW-Whitewater Fall Invitational over the weekend.

Jung, a freshman, finished in a tie for sixth place out of 96 golfers at the tournament with a 36-hole score of 166. Her opening round of 85 was a season-best and included eight pars and a birdie on the 150-yard, par-3 fifth hole. She improved her season-best score by four shots on Saturday, firing an 81 also featured eight pars to go along with back-to-back birdies on 10 and 11, two par-4s measuring 310 and 262 yards, respectively.

The Foresters finished fifth out of 17 teams at the event with a two-day score of 706, which is the third-lowest 36-hole mark in the team's four-year history.

Jung's performance over the weekend improved her scoring average on the season to 88.6 and made her one of six players on the team at 90 or better.
