Lake Forest Finishes 10th at Spring Fling

Senior Allie Girard posted back-to-back rounds of 84 on Friday and Saturday to lead the Forester women's golf team to a 10th-place finish at the 16-team UW-Whitewater Spring Fling.

Girard placed tied-for-seventh out of the 83 golfers who played both days. Just two players in the field finished ahead of her in both rounds.

Freshman Cece Cruz was next on the team with a two-day score of 192, which was tied-for-44th overall. Sophomore Kalay Kotasek's weekend score was 194, freshman Yuka Kawata's 204, and sophomore Anhayte Guajardo's 205.

Illinois Wesleyan University claimed the team title with a score of 653, 29 strokes better than runner-up Carthage College. Lake Forest's 755 was good for 10th place, nine shots behind North Central College and 11 ahead of Monmouth College.

The event was played at The Bleoit Club in Beloit, Wisconsin. The par-72 course covered 5,816 yards.

The Foresters' final comptition of the 2016-17 season will be a dual match with Wisconsin Lutheran College at Highland Park Country Club next Friday.
