Foresters Finish Third at Aurora Invitational

The Lake Forest College women's golf team placed third at the Aurora University Invitational on Monday. Freshman Frankie Corrado was one of two Foresters in the top 10 overall.

Corrado finished in a tie for eighth place out of 38 competitors with a score of 93. Five pars in the round helped her improve her scoring average on the season to 96.83.

The Foresters' top finisher for the seventh time in as many events was sophomore Allie Girard, who carded an 85 on the 6,003-yard, par-72 course. She was fourth overall, seven shots behind the leader. It was her sixth top-five finish of the year.

Juniors Alex Dunn and Michelle Ricolcol rounded out Lake Forest's scoring with rounds of 101 and 114, respectively.

Nine teams were respresented in the tournament, although just six had at least the four players required for team scoring. Hannibal-LaGrange University finished first in 383 strokes, two fewer than runner-up Aurora. Lake Forest was third at 393.

The Foresters' final competition of the fall semester will be this weekend's Midwest Conference Championship Tournament. The three-day event begins on Friday at Aldeen Golf Club in Rockford, Illinois.
