Lake Forest College women's golfer Allie Girard was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for her performance in a pair of events the previous week.
Girard, a sophomore, finished in a tie for third place out of 32 competitors at the Elmhurst Invitational on Wednesday. She finished with a score of 83 on the 5,821-yard, par-72 course after recording a birdie and eight pars in her round. Lake Forest placed third among four full teams and three partial squads.
The Foresters hosted an defeated Concordia University Wisconsin 362-374 on Thursday. Girard's 79 was the top score of the day by a dozen strokes and the best round in the conference this season. With a birdie and six pars in her first nine holes, Girard went out in 37. She added four more pars while shooting a 42 on the back nine. The par-72 course measures 5,988 yards.
Girard now owns the top two scores in the conference this season and three more rounds that rank in the top 10.
