Foresters Finish Fourth at Benedictine Fall Invite

The Lake Forest College women's golf team placed fourth at the Benedictine Fall Invite on Sunday. Leading the way for the Foresters was sophomore Allie Girard, who finished just one stroke off the lead.

Girard's 81 was good for third place in the 36-player field and just behind a pair of players at 80. She made three birdies, more than any other player at the event, and was just one over par on the first 10 holes.

The only other player in the event with multiple birdies was Forester junior Alex Dunn, who had a pair in her round of 97 and finished in a tie for 19th place.

Lake Forest freshman Aly Skoczek carded a 102, one shot ahead of classmate Frankie Corrado and two ahead of junior Michelle Ricolcol.

Loras College won the tournament with a scored of 340 and Aurora University was next at 356. Marian University edged out the Foresters 375 to 383 and Robert Morris University was fifth at 385. Benedictine University and North Park University did not field a complete team of four players.

Lake Forest will compete twice next week, beginning with the Elmhurst College Bluejay Invitational on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. The first home event in Foresters women's golf history will be a dual match with Concordia University at 2:00 Thursday afternoon.
