Foresters Finish 12th at First Tournament

The Lake Forest College women's golf team completed the first tournament in program history on Saturday, placing 12th at Carthage College's "Tournament on the Border." The Foresters were 16 strokes better on Saturday than Friday, thanks in part to a seven-shot improvement by junior Alex Dunn.

Dunn moved up nine spots in the individual standings, climbing into a tie for 36th place. The Foresters' #2 player needed 92 shots to complete the par-72 course on day one of the competition and just 85 strokes on Saturday.

Lake Forest was led by sophomore Allie Girard, who finished tied-for-22nd over in the 79-player field with a final score of 171. She was 32nd after Friday's score of 88 but was five shots better in round two.

Freshman Aly Skoczek finished in a tie for 70th place with a score of 208 and senior Brooke Perkins was 77th with a 238.

The Foresters' next competition will be played next Friday on their home course - Foss Park in North Chicago - against Concordia University Wisconsin. The teams will tee off at 3:00 p.m.
