The 2020-21 season will be the second for Kaliann Rikard on the Lake Forest College coaching staff and her sixth working with athletes at the collegiate level. Among her many roles on staff are recruiting, social media, and scouting.

Lake Forest was 13-12 overall and 10-8 in Midwest Conference play in 2019-20. The Foresters set a program record for three-pointers with 164 and ranked second in the league with 70.2 points per contest. Kelsey Burton was named First Team All-MWC for the third consecutive season and five members of the team earned Academic All-MWC honors.

Rikard spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at Webster University, her alma mater. While at Webster she assisted the head coach in nearly every aspect of the program and helped lead the Gorloks to a two-year overall record of 37-16, a mark of 22-10 in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, a SLIAC Tournament title, and an appearance in the 2018 NCAA Division III Tournament.

Rikard’s coaching career also includes a two-year stint as an assistant at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. The Owls posted a pair of 20-win seasons and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament in both of her seasons on staff, advancing to the event’s quarterfinal round in 2017.

A four-year member of the basketball team at Webster during her collegiate career, Rikard was a team captain from 2012-14 and earned First Team All-SLIAC and All-SLIAC Defensive Team Honors. Webster qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2011 and qualified for the SLIAC conference tournament in each of her four seasons. Rikard ranks among the Gorlok’s career leaders in games played, assists, steals, and made free throws. She also holds the program’s single-season school record for assists and her season totals in several other categories sit among the top 10 in team annals.

Rikard graduated from Webster with a bachelor’s degree in education before earning a master’s degree in athletic administration from William Woods.
