Johnson, Lally, and Neher Named Academic All-District®

College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2022-23 Academic All-District® Teams for women's basketball on Tuesday and three Lake Forest College players were listed.

To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must be starters or important reserves and have played in at least half of the team's contests at their position. They must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale at their current institution and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.

Lake Forest's honorees were seniors Brooke Johnson, Annie Lally, and Katie Neher.

Johnson is a data science major with a concentration in computer science. The forward made seven starts and finished with 54 points and 30 rebounds in 18 games this winter. She averaged nearly eight rebounds per 40 minutes during her three-year Forester career. Johnson was an Academic All-Midwest Conference honoree last season.

Lally, a double major in finance and data science, scored 14.5 points per game and shot 54.4 percent from the field this season. She reached double figures in points in 20 of 24 contests, finished with 20 or more five times, and averaged 23.2 in the team's last five games. Her .531 career field goal percentage is the fourth-highest mark in team history. Lally was the team's Most Valuable Player and an Academic All-MWC honoree in 2021-22.

Neher, who is majoring in environmental studies, was the league's leading scorer this season and ranks 18th in the nation with 20.9 points per game. The guard also averaged a team-high 8.0 rebounds per game and added 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals per contest. She became just the ninth player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points and she reached the milestone on Saturday in her final game as a Forester. Neher is a two-time Academic All-MWC honoree.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on March 15.
