Lake Forest College's Katie Neher was named U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Division III National Player of the Week on Tuesday after averaging 27.5 points, 17.5 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 3.0 steals in a pair of victories last week.

Neher led all players with 29 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 steals in Tuesday night's 83-64 victory at Mount Mary University. The senior guard also dished out a career-high eight assists in the contest.

Lake Forest prevailed 97-88 in overtime at Beloit College on Saturday with Neher scoring a game-high 26 points. She also pulled down 21 rebounds, the highest single-game total by a Midwest Conference player this season and the third-most ever by a Forester, and matched Tuesday's mark for assists with eight.

Neher is currently ranked 17th in the nation with 20.6 points per game this season. She is also averaging 8.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest while shooting 46.6 percent from the field, 37.3 percent on three-pointers, and 78.7 percent from the free throw line.

The USBWA selects men's and women's Division III National Players of the Week each Tuesday. This is the eighth season that the USBWA will recognize national players of the week from Division III. Neher joins former teammate Kelsey Burton (February 6, 2018) as the only Foresters to receive the award.
