Third MWC Performer of the Week Award this Season for Katie Neher

Lake Forest College women's basketball player Katie Neher was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Monday for her performance in a pair of league games last week.

Neher turned in her second 37-point performance of the season and added 11 rebounds and five assists in Wednesday's 80-66 victory over Monmouth College. The senior guard was extremely efficient offensively, shooting 12-for-16 from the field overall, connecting on three of five attempts from three-point range, and making 10 of 11 free throws in the game. She became the first player in program history to score 37 or more points in a game more than once and the first Forester with three scoring outputs of at least 33 points.

Lake Forest was defeated 89-81 in overtime by Lawrence University on Saturday. Neher tied for game-high honors with 24 points and chipped in with eight rebounds and four assists. She shot 8-for-15 from the field and 7-for-8 from the foul line and her buzzer-beating jumper at the end of regulation forced the extra period.

Neher is the leading scorer in the MWC and ranks 29th in the nation with 19.8 points per game this season. She is also among the top 12 in the conference with 6.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.8 steals per contest.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Neher also earned the award on November 21 and December 19.
