Women's basketball sophomore Maurissa Edwards was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Tuesday for her performances in the Foresters' games against Monmouth College on Wednesday and Lawrence University on Saturday.
Edwards scored 29 points in the game against Monmouth with 19 of them coming in the fourth quarter when she led the team to overcome a 12-point deficit to defeat the first-place Fighting Scots. She shot 47% from the floor, was 2 for 3 from behind the arc, and was 11 for 12 from the free throw line.
In the game against Lawrence, Maurissa scored 21 points. She was six for 13 from the floor and went a perfect nine for nine at the free throw line.
Forester Athletes of the Week are voted for by the Athletic Department on Tuesdays.
