Turnovers Doom Lake Forest at Nation's Ninth-Ranked Team

The Forester women's basketball team was defeated 99-49 at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the ninth-ranked team in the country, on Sunday.

Junior forward Annie Lally led the visitors with eight points and senior guard Ely DoBrodt was next on the team with seven. Sophomore forward Brooke Johnson, senior guard Katie Neher, and senior forward Kara Schoenlein added six apiece.

The Foresters shot 41.7 percent from the field, slightly better than their season average, but committed 34 turnovers to the Warhawks' 17. The home team also had a significant edge on the boards, grabbing 49 rebounds to Lake Forest's 27.

The non-conference loss dropped the Foresters' overall record this season to 5-12 while Whitewater improved to 18-2.

Lake Forest will play another non-conference game Tuesday night against Mount Mary University. Tip-off in the Sports and Recreation Center is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
