Lake Forest Falls in First Road Game of the Year

The Forester women's basketball team went on the road for the first time this season and returned from Concordia University Wisconsin with an 81-37 loss.

Lake Forest junior forward Maggie Kersting scored on the game's first possession but the Falcons accounted for the game's next seven points and led the rest of the way. The score was 23-8 after the opening period and 49-19 at the half. After outscoring the Foresters by just one point in the third quarter, the home team added 13 more to its lead in the final 10 minutes.

Forester senior guard Kelsey Burton and sophomore center Katie Fagan shared team-high honors with six points apiece. Freshman forward Abigail Pribble led the squad with nine rebounds and sophomore guard Katie Neher with five assists.

The Concordia Wisconsin defense limited the visitors to just 17.6 percent shooting from the field while the home team was at 52.9 percent. The Falcons outscored the Foresters by 30 points on three points and by eight more at the foul line. The team were even in rebounding (48) and turnovers (19).

The loss was Lake Forest's second in as many games this season while Concordia Wisconsin improved to 8-3.

The Foresters will host Dominican University Tuesday night at 7:00.
