Senior Zaria Sydnor led Lake Forest with 18 points in her final collegiate game, an 83-69 victory over visiting Grinnell College.

Sydnor was honored along with fellow senior Molly Schoenlein and student assistant coach Jaianna Brooks before their Senior Day game. She then went out and scored six points in the first half and a dozen in the second to help the Foresters finish the year with a winning record at 13-12.

Junior guard Kelsey Burton, junior forward Delaney Sjong, and freshman guard Katie Neher joined Sydnor in double figures with 15, 14, and 13 points, respectively. Sjong led the home team with six rebounds while sophomore guard Meona Feather dished out a game-high five assists.

The Foresters shot 43.4 percent from the field while limiting the Pioneers to just 39.3 percent. Lake Forest knocked down seven three-pointers to Grinnell's four but was outscored 21-10 at the foul line. The visitors had a 43-39 edge on the boards but committed 23 turnovers while the Foresters had just 10.

Grinnell jumped out to a 18-7 lead and, after the home team trimmed the deficit to three points, closed out the opening period with seven straight points to make it a 31-21 game after 10 minutes of play. The margin grew to as many as 16 points in the second but Lake Forest had it back down to seven (46-39) at halftime.

Trailing by eight nearly halfway through the third, the Foresters scored 12 of the game's next 13 points to take the lead. After the Pioneers tied the score at 56, the home team took the lead for good on a Sjong free throw. Already ahead 64-59 at the end of the third, Lake Forest scored the first six points of the fourth and, after trading baskets, led by double figures the rest of the way.

The Foresters finished the Midwest Conference portion of their schedule with a league record of 10-8 while Grinnell fell to 11-14 overall and 7-11 in the conference.
