Freshman guard Katie Neher and junior guard Kelsey Burton shared team-high honors with 20 points apiece Friday night in a 93-72 victory over visiting Illinois College.

Burton also led all players in the contest with 13 rebounds, six assists, and six steals in the contest. It was her 17th career double-double. Neher's point total was a season-high, as were her seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Forester senior guard Zaria Sydnor and junior forward Delaney Sjong also reached double figures with 19 and 11 points, respectively.

Lake Forest shot 45.2 percent from the field while limiting the Lady Blues to just 37.9 percent. The Foresters matched their season-high with 16 steals while committing just 14 turnovers to Illinois College's 23.

A three-pointer by Burton mid-way through the opening period put the home team on top for good. Already leading 18-12 after 10 minutes of play, the Foresters scored the first eight points of the second quarter to make it a 14-point game. The Lady Blues, however, accounted for 21 of the next 29 points to cut the lead to a single point at 34-33 with two minutes left in the half. Lake Forest responded with a 9-5 run to close out the period and took a 43-38 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Sydnor knocked down a pair of three-pointers as the Foresters pulled away with 11 consecutive points in the third quarter. The margin grew to 18 by the end of the period and reached 22 late in the fourth.

Lake Forest is now 9-8 overall this season and 6-4 in Midwest Conference play. Illinois College fell to 8-10 overall and 4-7 in the league.

The Foresters will look for their second victory in as many days when they host Knox College Saturday afternoon at 3:00.
