Junior guard Kelsey Burton led Lake Forest with 21 points and seven rebounds in Friday night's 84-62 loss at Grinnell College.

Burton shot 10-for-17 from the field in her second game this season with at least 20 points. Freshman guard Kaley Sheehan finished with 11 points, three assists, and three steals and was the only other Forester to score in double figures.

Grinnell accounted for the first seven points of the night and led throughout the contest. Already ahead 21-17 after 10 minutes of play, the Pioneers opened the second quarter with a 9-0 run to extend their lead into double figures. The margin reached 14 points with less than four minutes to play in the half and was there again at 44-30 when the teams went into the locker room.

After trailing by as many as 18 points in the third quarter, Lake Forest closed to within 10 late in the period. The Pioneers, however, scored the final three points of the third and began the fourth with a 12-4 run to make it a 21-point game. The Foresters got no closer than 17 points the rest of the way and fell to 4-6 overall and 1-2 in Midwest Conference play this season. Grinnell is now 5-5 overall and 1-2 in the league.

Lake Forest will continue conference play at Cornell College Saturday afternoon at 3:00.
