Lake Forest College women's basketball player Molly Schoenlein was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after leading her team to a 75-66 victory at Beloit College the previous night.
Schoenlein finished the game with a season-high 17 points and 13 rebounds and added 4 blocked shots. The junior forward shot 7-for-11 from the field and made all three of her free throw attempts in the contest. The Foresters entered the fourth quarter trailing by seven but, led by Schoenlein's 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks in the period, quickly caught up and pulled away for their four victory in five Midwest Conference games this season.
The double-double was Schoenlein's first of 2018-19 and the fifth of her career. She now leads the league in blocked shots with 17 on the year.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
