Junior forward Hannah O'Day scored a dozen points, including the final two of the game with just 1.5 seconds on the clock, as the Lake Forest College women's basketball team pulled out a 59-57 victory at St. Norbert College Wednesday night.

O'Day's game-winning shot off a pass from senior guard Kelsey Schmitt finished off a six-point run to close out the contest. After facing a 20-point halftime deficit, St Norbert outscored the Foresters 35-10 over the next 14 minutes to take a 51-46 lead. Lake Forest eventually tied the score at 53 on a basket by sophomore forward Molly Schoenlein with 3:23 remaining but back-to-back baskets by the Green Knights put them back on top 57-53 with two minutes left. Schmitt knocked down a pair of free throws with 1:36 to play and the visitors tied the score on a jumper by freshman guard Jaianna Brooks with a minute left. After getting a stop, the Foresters ran down the clock before Schmitt found O'Day for the winner.

St. Norbert's comeback came after Lake Forest outscored the home team 21-4 in the second quarter. The Foresters had also scored the final 10 points of the first after falling behind by seven early on.

The Foresters shot 43.6 percent from the field on the night, their second-highest shooting percentage of the season, while limiting the Green Knights to just 35 percent. Rebounds were even at 36 apiece and Lake Forest committed 19 of the game's 34 turnovers.

Schmitt shared team-high scoring honors with O'Day while Schoenlein finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Sophomore guard Zaria Sydnor led Lake Forest with five assists while Schmitt and Brooks each added four.

The victory evened the Foresters' overall record on the season at 11-11 while St. Norbert fell to 7-5.

Lake Forest will resume Midwest Conference play on Saturday at Cornell College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
