Freshman guard Kelsey Burton recorded her eighth double-double of the season to help lead the Lake Forest College women's basketball team to a 66-43 victory over Beloit College at home Tuesday night.

Burton finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds and added four assists and a pair of steals on the night. She shot 10-for 15 from the floor, made one of her two three-point field goal attempts, and knocked down four of five free throws.

Junior forward Hannah O'Day was the only other Forester in double figures with 15 points and she also grabbed seven rebounds and led the team with four steals. Sophomore guard Zaria Sydnor and sophomore forward Molly Schoenlein earned game-high honors with five assists and three blocked shots, respectively.

O'Day and Burton combined for 11 rebounds and all 11 of the home team's points in the opening quarter. The Foresters led 11-9 after 10 minutes of play and the margin grew to 11 in the second. Burton already had a double-double at halftime with 10 points and 10 rebounds and Lake Forest took a 28-19 lead into the locker room.

The Buccaneers pulled to within seven points four different times in the third quarter but the Foresters closed out the period with an 12-2 run and led 51-34 at the buzzer. Lake Forest also scored the first 11 points of the fourth and easily finished off the victory.

The home team shot 35.6 percent from the field on the night while holding Beloit to just 30.2. The Foresters also had a slight 47-43 edge in rebounds and committed just seven turnovers while forcing 22.

Lake Forest improved to 9-11 overall this season and 7-6 in Midwest Conference play. Beloit fell to 3-16 overall and 1-11 in the league.

The Foresters will host league-leading Ripon College Saturday afternoon at 3:00.
