Lake Forest College women's basketball player Kelsey Burton was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Monday for her performance in a pair of narrow victories in league play.

Burton, a freshman guard, finished with a dozen points in the team's 70-67 triumph over Lawrence University at home Wednesday night. She also added four rebounds and three steals in the contest.

Lake Forest prevailed 74-70 at Monmouth College on Saturday to complete a season sweep of the Fighting Scots. Burton shot 8-for-16 from the field, 4-for-6 on three-pointers, and 8-for-9 from the foul line to finish with a game-high 28 points, the highest scoring output by a Forester in nearly three years. She also led all players with 13 rebounds for her league-high seventh double double of the year.

Burton now ranks ninth in the MWC with 13.1 points per game and fifth with 8.0 rebounds per contest.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's director of media and information.
