Lake Forest Defeated by Nation's 15th-Ranked Team

Junior forward Hannah O'Day matched her career-high with 20 points but the Forester women's basketball team was defeated 83-51 by the University of St. Thomas, the 15th-ranked team in the country, at the JustAgame Classic in Wisconsin Dells on Saturday.

O'Day, who led the team with 13 points on Friday, made half of her 16 field goal attempts and shot 4-for-7 from three-point range in the Foresters' final contest of 2017. Freshman guard Kelsey Burton was next on squad with a dozen points and sophomore forward Molly Schoenlein pulled down a team-high five rebounds.

Lake Forest shot just 29.5 percent from the floor while the Tommies connected on 49.3 percent of their field goal attempts. St. Thomas also had a commanding 46-24 edge in rebounds and committed just nine turnovers to the Foresters' 15.

St. Thomas scored 17 of the game's first 20 points and led 26-12 after the opening period. The margin was 30 at halftime and 35 after three quarters before the Foresters outscored the Tommies 15-12 in the fourth.

Lake Forest fell to 4-6 on the season while St. Thomas improved to 9-2.

The Foresters will resume Midwest Conference play Wednesday night against visiting Monmouth College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
