Foresters Fall at St. Norbert

Sophomore guard Bridget Bilek led the visitors with 14 points as the Lake Forest College women's basketball team dropped a 65-44 decision at St. Norbert College on Tuesday.

Bilek shot 5-for-7 from the field, made her only attempt from three-point range, and added a pair of blocked shots in the contest. Sophomore guard Hannah O'Day was the only other Forester in double figures with 10 points.

Lake Forest shot just 35.7 percent from the floor while the Green Knights connected on 48 percent of their field goal attempts. The home team also had a commanding 36-23 edge in rebounds and benefitted from 26 Forester turnovers while committing 20 themselves.

St. Norbert scored the game's first seven points and led by as many as nine in the opening period. The Foresters trailed 14-8 at the start of the second quarter and did not get any closer in the period. The Green Knights gradually pulled away and increased their lead to as many as 17 before taking a 36-21 advantage in to the locker room at halftime.

The home team led by as many as 26 points in the third quarter and by at least 17 the rest of the way.

The Foresters fell to 5-17 overall this season and 4-13 in Midwest Conference play. St. Norbert improved to 17-5 overall and 14-3 in the league.

Lake Forest will close out the season at home against Lawrence University on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
