Senior forward Brie Majkowski pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds in the Lake Forest College women's basketball team's 61-39 triumph Wednesday evening at Lawrence University.

Majkowski also scored eight points and dished out a team-high four assists in the contest. Forester sophomore guard Bridget Bilek led all players in the game with 17 points and junior guard Kelsey Schmitt added 12 off the bench.

Lake Forest shot 39.7 percent from the field while limiting the Vikings to just 25 percent. The Foresters also out-rebounded the home team 52-35.

The visitors led by as many as six points in the first quarter but trailed 17-15 at its completion. Lake Forest then opened the second quarter with a 13-0 run and outscored the home team 16-4 in the period.

Lawrence scored the first seven points of the second half to trim the margin to three and, after a pair of Lake Forest layups, connected on a three-pointer to make the score 35-31 with more than six minutes to play in the third quarter. The Foresters did not allow another point in the period while scoring 11 of their own and took a 46-31 advantage into the final 10 minutes.

A Viking basket early in the fourth quarter made it a 13-point game but the Foresters outscored their hosts 15-6 the rest of the way to secure the victory.

Lake Forest is now 4-10 overall this season and 3-6 in Midwest Conference play. Lawrence fell to 2-12 overall and 0-9 in the league.

The Foresters will return home to face Monmouth College Saturday afternoon at 3:00.
