Sophomore guard Bridget Bilek led the Lake Forest College women's basketball team with 13 points in a 61-47 loss at Cornell College on Friday.

Bilek scored six of her points in the second quarter, which ended with the Foresters trailing 26-20. The visitors tied the score at 30 and again at 36 in the third quarter before a basket by sophomore forward Abby Novak gave the visitors their first lead since the game's opening minutes. A free throw by Bilek made it a three-point game and the margin was three again before Cornell scored seven of the last nine points of the period. The home team rattled off 12 straight points and outscored Lake Forest 16-4 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Novak finished her second game as a Forester with 10 points. She shot 4-for-7 from the field, led the team with four assists, and tied junior guard Kesley Schmitt with a team-high six rebounds.

The Foresters shot 36 percent from the field and limited the home team to just 33 percent. Lake Forest also out-rebounded the Rams 44-33 but committed 32 turnovers, twice as many as Cornell.

The loss dropped the Foresters' overall record to 2-3 and Midwest Conference mark to 1-1. Cornell improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the league.

Lake Forest will continue its trip to Iowa with another MWC game at Grinnell College Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
