Women's basketball player Michelle Ricolcol was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday for her performance in a pair of Lake Forest victories.
Ricolcol, a junior guard, scored a team-high 12 points in the Foresters' dramatic 52-51 triumph over visiting Monmouth College on Saturday. With her team trailing by a point, she drove into the lane and was fouled with just 4.3 seconds to play in the game. Ricolcol knocked down both free throws to secure the victory.
The Foresters posted an 87-38 victory at Illinois Institute of Technology Tuesday night and Ricolcol scored a dozen points again, this time in just eight minutes on the court. In just six attempts, she made four of the team's program record 15 three-pointers in the contest.
Ricolcol has averaged 14.8 points per game during the Foresters' current six-game winning streak. Lake Forest is 10-9 overall and has climbed into a three-way tie for third place in the Midwest Conference standings with a 9-5 league record.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Ricolcol was also named MWC Performer of the Week on Monday.
