Lake Forest College women's basketball player Michelle Ricolcol was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Monday after helping lead the Foresters to a pair of league victories in the previous seven days.

Ricolcol, a junior guard, was extremely efficient while leading all players and matching her career-high with 20 points in a 77-43 victory at Lawrence University Tuesday night. She shot 7-for-8 from the field, 2-for-2 from three-point range, and 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the contest.

Lake Forest posted a crucial and dramatic 52-51 over visiting Monmouth College on Saturday. The home team trailed by one when Ricolcol was fouled with just 4.3 seconds on the clock. She sunk both free throws, despite a Fighting Scot timeout in between them, to finish with a team-high 12 points in the triumph.

After scoring just 3.6 points per game in 10 November and December games, Ricolcol averaged 14.0 points in eight January contests and 15.4 since returning to the starting lineup five games ago.

The Foresters are currently on a five-game winning streak and have climbed into third place in the conference standings with a league record of 9-5.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's director of media and information.
