Lake Forest had 25 turnovers in the game's first 27 minutes as Carroll built a 44-26 lead. The home team began taking better care of the ball and outscored the Pioneers 18-3 over the next nine minutes to pull to within just three points. A three-pointer by senior guard Alex Messacar with 1:56 to play trimmed the deficit to three points again but the Foresters were unable to get any closer and the Pioneers pulled away for the victory.

The Forester fell to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in Midwest Conference play this season while Carroll raised its overall record to 4-1 in its first league game of the year.

Lake Forest will continue conference play at Illinois College Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
