Lake Forest Opens Outdoor Season at Olivet Nazarene

The Forester track team traveled to Olivet Nazarene University on Saturday for the ONU Outdoor Open.

In the distance events, senior Julián Cano won the 5000m run, classmate Lionel Whitehead posted a career-best time of 4:40.96 in the 1500m, and freshman Marcelo Camba represented Lake Forest in the 800m. On the women's side, junior Becca Ray was the fastest of four Foresters in the 800m and sophomore Delfina Jorgensen posted a time of 5:51.56 in the 1500m.

Freshman Mary Radziewicz led the team in the women's 100m and freshman Mason Wright in the men's. Junior Annie Pulaski and senior Joe Maret turned in the squad's top performances in the 200m while junior Kenza Kantour and Jayden Lewan were Lake Forest's best in the 400m.

Freshman Jacquelyn Han, the program's first hurdler, competed in the 100m and 400m events and the Foresters fielded 4x100m relays for the first time. Radziewicz and Pulaski were joined by freshmen AJ Jones and Angelina Ristic-Tesanovic in the women's race and the men's relay team was made up of freshmen Mason WrightMichael AladeJermaine Robinson, and Trentyn Tyson.

Alade's leap of 5.81m (19'.75") was the best of Lake Forest's long jumpers while seniors Owen Bodine and Jake Reid added to the team's performance in the field events in the triple jump and shot put, respectively.

After a weekend off from competition, the Foresters will compete in the Beloit Relays on Saturday, April 15.
