Margaret Bradley Invitational Serves as Foresters' Final Tune-Up before MWC Championships

The Lake Forest College track teams traveled the the University of Chicago on Saturday to compete in the Margaret Bradley Invitational.

The Foresters top finishes came in the 60m dash, where freshmen AJ Jones and Trentyn Tyson each placed sixth. Jones posted a time of 8.23 in the prelims, matching her program record, before breaking it with a clocking of 8.09 seconds in the final. Tyson finished both races in 7.45 seconds, which was slightly better than his previous season-best time of 7.47.

Junior Rayan Khalid turned in a 60m time of 7.46 and freshman Tucker Forrest a 7.56.

Scoring for Lake Forest also came from sophomore Matthew Lungu and senior Owen Bodine, who were eighth in the 400m and long jump, respectively. Lungu's time of 56.47 seconds ranks him fourth in Forester indoor track history and Bodine's best leap or the day covered 17 feet and 10.25 inches.

Jones finished just outside the top eight in the 200, placing ninth in 27.90 seconds.

Freshman Jacquelyn Han registered the team's top time in the women's 400m and freshman Julie Dorner in the 800m. Han also competed in the 60m hurdles, sophomore Amy Czauderna in the mile, and classmate Leen Abounayef in the shot put.

On the men's side, Tyson led Lake Forest in the 200m, freshman Marcelo Camba in the 800m, senior Lionel Whitehead in the mile, senior Julián Cano in the 3000m, and senior Jake Reid in the shot put.

The Foresters will travel to Illinois College next weekend for the 2023 Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. The meet will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
