Another Victory and School Record for Morland at Elmhurst

The Forester track team competed in the Elmhurst Invitational on Friday and several season-best times were posted.

The team's top performance came from junior Madeline Morland, who won the 1500m with a program record time of 4:48.96. Her clocking was good for a 1.6-second victory in the 49-runner event and was more than two-and-a-half seconds faster than the previous school record set in 2019. Morland has now won races in team record fashion in bask-to-back weeks, having also accomplished the feat at 5,000m last Saturday.

Also scoring points for Lake Forest on Friday was graduate student Audrey Paglia, who was third out of 35 competitors in the 800m run in 2:24.87.

Sophomore Gracie Greenly added her name to the program's record book as well, as her 400m time of 57.48 seconds ranks fourth in team annals.

On the men's side freshman Bart Brophy finished 21st in the 800m run with a time of 2:05.83 and senior Mathieu Norcross was 22nd in the 400m at 54.52.

Monmouth College's Fighting Scot Invitational is next on the Foresters' schedule. The meet is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. next Saturday.
