Lake Forest One of Three Teams at the Beloit College Invitational

The Forester track team continued its season at the Beloit College Invitational on Saturday and came away with victories in three events.

Lake Forest actually had the top three finishers in the women's 800, where senior Yaneli Guajardo won in 2:26.54. Sophomore Madeline Morland was the runner-up with a time of 2:31.33 and senior Tianna Beilke was third in 2:53.66.

It was a 1-2 finish for the Foresters in the women's 1500. Senior Audrey Paglia outsprinted classmate Anna Mollnhuber for the victory, crossing the line with a time of 5:03.18. Mollnhuber finished in 5:04.95.

The other Lake Forest win came from senior Molly Gniady in the 3000 steeplechase, where her time of 13:23.05 was more than two-and-a-half minutes faster than the only other competitor in the race.

Guajardo added a fourth place finish and school record time of 29.39 in the 200.

On the men's side juniors Mathieu Norcross (2:08.16) and Christian Reyes (2:18.04) placed fourth and fifth in the 800. Reyes was also third in the 1500 in 4:30.02 while fellow junior Julian Cano finished eighth in 4:55.96.

Lake Forest will travel to Eastern Illinois University for the Big Blue Classic next Saturday.
