Junior Yaneli Guajardo posted a pair of runner-up finishes to lead Lake Forest at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Early Bird Invite on Saturday.

Guajardo finished second in the 800 meter run and the mile, completing the shorter race in 2:21.24 and breaking her own school record by four-and-a-half seconds with a time of 5:11.96 in the mile.

Freshman Madeline Morland's 1:49.37 in the 600 meter run was also a team record and sophomore Ellen Szostak and freshman Anna Mollnhuber recorded times in the mile and 3000 meter run, respectively, that rank among the top five in the program's short history.

The Forester women finished with 34 points, good for fifth place in the 10-team field.

The mile was where the Lake Forest men also had the most success. Senior Philip Wilson was fifth in the race in 4:43.77, sophomore Christian Reyes sixth in 4:45.01, and senior Dillon Rice seventh with a time of 4:52.79. Reyes' time was a career-best, although he continues to rank fourth in team history in the event.

With 20 points, the Foresters were seventh in the standings out of 10 teams.

The next meet on Lake Forest's schedule is the Cardinal Opener at North Central College on Friday, January 17.
